While one of the girls from the buying department was over in Paris (we’re not jealous!), she took a trip to the French mecca Colette and was delighted to discover that the fabulous – and utterly lovely – photographer, Todd Selby, was camping out in their window space.
Best known for his brilliant online project The Selby, for which he photographs creative individuals in their own personal spaces, Selby’s shots are not only beautiful, but extremely personal and sometimes touching. Giving us a peek into the homes and workplaces of a host of extremely stylish and influential individuals – from architects and models to DJs and chefs – his site now gets a staggering 35,000 hits a day.
If you’re a fan, you’ll be thrilled to know that a book of his work is coming out on April 1st. Always one step ahead of the game, Colette managed to bag a set early, and Selby had set himself up in their window to sign copies, take commissions and perform karaoke for passers by. Just look at the cute stickers they were giving out!
We love this idea so much and have decided that we sort of want to be Todd Selby’s new best friend …
